What is the best action any of us can take ?
How can we stop this or try to prevent it continually spreading and getting even worse ?

Hi Margot. 1) The first thing we can do it stop buying produce that is from factory farms. Meat, fish, dairy and eggs. Always read the labels and ask in a restaurant. I have posted information about how to understand labels, but always feel free to ask. If it doesn’t state the welfare or have a recognised approved logo it is most likely from a factory farm. 2) Buy from suppliers and producers that make the extra effort to make a superior product. 3) Cutting down on our consumption of animal products is also key it will help offset the extra costs to buy better quality but also reduce the demand on the supply chain. 4) Support charities and organisations that we working at government level and with major organisations to improve farming practices, find details on the ‘More’ page, if you sign up they will share petitions to stop councils approving planning permissions. 5) Spread the word – in a positive and supportive way.
